2021 Toyota Camry Trims
Toyota wasn't messing around when it said it had the largest model selection for Camry this year. There are 17 unique configurations to choose from, categorized by engine type, then drivetrain type, then trim grade.
2021 Toyota Camry models include:
- Three V6 grades - XLE, XSE and TRD

- Five 4-cyl. AWD grades - LE, XLE, SE, SE Nightshade, XSE
- Four hybrid grades - LE, XLE, SE, XSE (new)
The XSE trim makes its first ever appearance on Camry Hybrid, bringing a modern take on the ultimate in mid-size sedan athleticism and luxury to Camry's most fuel-efficient model. The L trim has been discontinued for this year, making LE the new "base model", if you will, with a starting MSRP of $25,045. Speaking of pricing, all Camry Hybrid grades are priced on average $1,200 less than the previous 2020 models.
Every trim grade has received exterior and interior enhancements, along with new options and packages for the 2021 model year. And all 2021 Camry models will come standard with the new Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, an updated suite of driver assist technologies.
2021 Toyota Camry Exterior
Camry is ready to greet drivers and passengers with two new distinct faces, featuring a sleek and refined front fascia for the LE and XLE grades, while the sporty SE and XSE grades showcase a bolder lower fascia with a honeycomb-style grille and larger side vent accents. The LE and XLE trims also come standard with new alloy wheel designs; 17-inch diameter for LE and 18-inch diameter for XLE.
The exciting Camry TRD model makes its return for 2021, and carries over its aerodynamically-focused design along with exclusive styling enhancements. This is one mean-looking sedan that's sure to turn heads! For the 2021 model year, Camry TRD adds Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and heated exterior mirrors to its list of included standard equipment.
There are a total of 10 exterior paint color options for the 2021 Camry, which includes three two-tone colorways. A new Blueprint color makes its debut, alongside the TRD-exclusive Ice Edge with a two-tone Midnight Black Metallic roof. The XSE trim now offers a third two-tone choice: Supersonic Red with Midnight Black Metallic roof.
With the restyled front end and these vibrant paint colors, Camry continues to be an alluring and popular choice in the space of mid-size sedans.
2021 Toyota Camry Interior
On the inside, every Camry model received upgrades to the dash and console appointments, including a new floating central touch-screen display.
You'll enjoy the same spacious and elegant cabin that Camry is known for, and find lifestyle benefits like signature long-distance seat comfort and premium craftsmanship throughout. Of course, as you move up the trim grades, more amenities become available to you, like a 9-inch infotainment display, a 7-inch multi-information display within the instrument cluster, and a 10-inch color head-up display.
The redesigned Toyota Audio system comes standard with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa capabilities, as well as the usual satellite radio options, Bluetooth streaming, and voice recognition. Upgrading to Toyota Audio Plus adds 4G LTE capabilities as well as an 800-watt, 9-speaker JBL sound system.
Interior color options include Ash, Macadamia, or Black, while the XSE trim offers an exclusive Cockpit Red colorway for an extra layer of excitement. Plus, each of these interiors are dressed in new trim for 2021, providing a refined look with details like dark wood inlay or patterned metal.
2021 Toyota Camry Performance
As mentioned before, the 2021 Camry is available in three distinct powertrains: 2.5-liter Dynamic Force four-cylinder, 3.5-liter V6, and the second-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS II).
The Dynamic Force 2.5-liter engine is a popular choice for both its power and efficiency. It delivers 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque thanks to a very high compression ratio and lots of Toyota's best engine technologies. Features like dual variable valve timing, a variable cooling system, variable oil pump, and cooled exhaust gas recirculation work in conjunction to give this peppy engine more performance than you'd typically expect.
If you need even more power, Camry is one of the few remaining mid-size sedans that can be equipped with a V6 engine. Utilizing Toyota's D-4S direct injection system and intelligent variable valve timing, this motor pumps out an impressive 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque; more than some of today's small sports cars.
For the Camry Hybrid, you get the best of both worlds -- quite literally -- as the Toyota Hybrid System enhances the 2.5-liter Dynamic Force four-cylinder engine with two electric motors. You still get plenty of power, with 208 total system horsepower, but also have the ability to drive in full-electric mode. The 2021 Camry XSE Hybrid has an EPA-estimated highway fuel economy of 47 mpg.
And lastly, the Toyota-developed Dynamic Torque Control AWD system is an upgrade option for all four-cylinder configurations of Camry, adding enhanced traction and control for non-ideal weather environments. This North America-only option debuted last year, and is expected to be found on roughly 15 percent of Camrys sold this year.
2021 Toyota Camry Safety
The 2021 Camry is one of the first vehicles to debut with the new Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, featuring the next steps in the company's safety technology evolution.
Many abilities of this comprehensive safety suite have been updated with better detection and functionality. For example, the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection can now detect a bicyclist in daytime and pedestrians in low-light conditions. Intersection support is also improved, with the ability to notify you and apply braking when it detects an oncoming vehicle or pedestrian during a left-hand turn.
Other features of Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ include: full-speed dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert is also available on select Camry models.
2021 Toyota Camry Overall
With the new updates for 2021, Camry is adding to the long list of reasons that have helped it maintain its title of "America's favorite mid-size sedan" for 18 years and running. It's also at the top when it comes to the longest production lifespan for a single nameplate in the industry.
