2017 Nissan Maxima SR Midnight Edition Performance
Under the hood of every Maxima is a powerful VQ series V6 engine that’s ready to lay down 300 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque through an efficient Xtronic transmission. Strong acceleration and optimal torque output is achieved with the use of variable gear ratios in the Xtronic transmission, and it's also been programmed to hold revs during high-G cornering so you can immediately get back on the throttle after the turn. The driving experience in the 2017 Maxima is very rewarding, with every aspect exuding sports car characteristics, from steering weight to throttle response to suspension tuning. In Sport mode, engine throttle response increases, the transmission programming becomes more aggressive, and the steering weight increases, all of which results in improved feedback from the car and a fun time for all.Our Maxima SR test model featured an exclusive suspension damper tune and a larger front stabilizer bar which gives the car sportier handling without sacrificing comfort. The dual panel panoramic moonroof has been eliminated on SR models for reduced weight and better torsional rigidity. The 2017 Maxima SR is so nimble and capable that you’ll often forget there’s a second set of doors and seats.Fuel efficiency for the 2017 Nissan Maxima SR is an EPA estimated 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway**.
