The Chevy Colorado Showcases Tons of Great Parts Available Through Our AutoGear Locations

by John Coyle

That’s right — SEMA 2019 has officially begun! And that means we can finally get a look at the Chevy Colorado Jeff Allen and the gang at Flat 12 Gallery have been working on for the big show. It’s a wicked rig, but aside from newsprint-themed wrap, it’s not over the top. Because the primary goal of this machine is to show what’s possible through AutoNation’s AutoGear line of automotive customization centers. So let’s take a look at some of the killer kit we hooked this bad Bow Tie up with!

Obviously, we wanted to go with a wicked set of shoes, to make sure our build would be ready for anything. So we went with 17-inch Method MR308 wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain Tires.

Up front, we opted for a Westin Outlaw bumper and Grille, along with a set of LED lights that’ll  turn even the darkest desert night into day. Underneath, there’s Westin skid plate to keep all the mechanical bits safe.

Inside, we had the folks at Katzkin whip up a custom leather interior. The contrasting stitching is done in signature AutoNation pink, and the bolsters are bordered with the newsprint theme of the exterior.

On the roof, there’s a set of Rhino-Rack roof bars so there’s a secure place to strap cargo, and there’s also a Pioneer Platform cargo system inside the roll bars. It looks trick, and it means easy access to tools too!

The bed has been sprayed with LINE-X Custom Spray-In Bedliner in AutoNation pink. And because it never hurts to be prepared, there’s also a pair of spare wheels and tires strapped down there.

Out back, there’s a Westin Outlaw bumper to match the one up front. There’s also a MagnaFlow Street Series cat-back, which will give the Colorado a nice throaty exhaust note, and help squeeze a couple more ponies out of the mill.

So that’s a quick tour of our SEMA 2019 build! But stay tuned for more news from the show floor in Sin City, as we’ve got a team video folks and photographers on the ground to capture all the action at this crazy automotive carnival!
